About This Story
The fire in a nearby cabin was warm. Outside, a young soldier stood, his bare feet were numb with cold waiting to deliver a message to a man who will turn out to be George Washington himself. So begins a heartwarming tale of generosity when there was nothing to give. At that time, America was but a dream shared by 11.000 brave souls in the perilous winter of 1777, at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
